GIIS KL Students Head to Bentong for Glamping Adventure

Standard 4 and 5 CBSE students and teachers from GIIS Kuala Lumpur recently traded their textbooks for tents in an exciting Glamping Adventure at the serene Suka Camping site in Bentong. The two-day trip, held on November 1st and 2nd, 2025, was far more than just a getaway; it was a carefully planned educational experience that reflected GIIS KL’s commitment to holistic development and global citizenship.

The students plunged into hands-on learning, beginning with acquiring essential camp-making skills, which boosted their confidence and independence. Team-building games filled the days, emphasizing cooperation and strengthening friendships. As evening fell, the students enjoyed a delicious steamboat dinner, followed by a heartwarming time around a cosy bonfire. Sharing songs, stories, and laughter under the stars created truly magical and lasting memories for everyone.

An educational highlight included a visit to a local durian and banana farm. This exploration provided valuable, firsthand knowledge of how fruits are grown and harvested, deepening their connection to nature and sustainable practices. The Glamping Adventure proved a resounding success, offering GIIS KL students an unparalleled opportunity to build important life skills, develop their character, and deepen their appreciation for the environment in an enjoyable and memorable setting.

This adventure beautifully integrated the school's 9 Gems holistic approach and crucial global goals. The activities directly supported Gem 4: Personality Development, by encouraging students to step out of their comfort zones, and Gem 7: Universal Values, through fostering teamwork and appreciation for nature. Students demonstrated Gem 8: Community and Care as they supported one another and shared responsibilities, while acquiring practical outdoor and survival knowledge for Gem 9: Skill Development and Ethics. Furthermore, the trip championed sustainability by aligning with SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production, SDG 13: Climate action, and SDG 15: Life on land.
